Personal Insurance

Automobile Insurance

In Connecticut, like most states, you must be able to prove that you can pay for damage in the event of an accident. Since most of us can’t pay out of pocket for such a large expense, insurance gives us the ability to cover the costs. Bouvier can look at your current policy and ensure that you’re protected financially by selecting the right amount of coverage while also reviewing what type of discounts that would apply based on your specific situation.

Homeowners, Condominium or Renters

Homeownership is one of the biggest investments one can make. Bouvier can provide a review of your current policy to ensure that your home is properly protected in the event of a loss.

As a condo owner, you are responsible for your personal property, personal liability inside the unit, and possibly any improvements made. We can review the bylaws and provide a policy tailored to the master association policy to ensure you are properly protected. Visit our condominium section for more information.

If you rent your home or apartment, it is up to you as the renter to insure your personal items and personal liability. Bouvier wants to make sure what matters to you is protected.

Umbrella

Umbrella policies are designed to provide added liability limits above your automobile and homeowners insurance, as well as recreational vehicles. For example, you cause an accident and injure the other driver. The hospital bills total $600,000 but you only have $250,000 in liability on your automobile policy. Without an umbrella policy, you are responsible for the remaining $350,000.

If you have any of the following exposures you should consider an umbrella policy: youth drivers, in- or above-ground pools, trampoline, horses, any type of recreational or boat – just to name a few. Umbrella polices are very affordable and can give you the extra security you need.

Boats & Recreational Vehicles

Whether you are out on the open water or towing your boat with your vehicle, we can make sure you are adequately covered. Boat insurance can provide protection against physical damage to your boat, engine and equipment as well as liability coverage.

In addition to your standard insurance we can also offer a wide range of insurance products to cover your recreational vehicles including: motorcycles, ATVs, antique automobiles, snowmobiles, jet skis, motor homes, mobile homes, trailers, scooters, golf carts etc.

Flood

Your standard homeowner’s policy does not cover you for flood damage. A flood can be caused by rain, rising stream, or a manmade event such as a fire hydrant failure, water main break or even sewer backup. A flood is defined by the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) as “an excess of water on land that is normally dry, affecting two or more acres of land or two or more properties.” Even a mere inch of water has the potential of causing nearly $25,000 worth of damage. Bouvier can help you determine your specific need and make sure your home and belongings are protected in the event of severe types of water damage.
